Welcome to DirectorsRecommend!I am a film fan. For me there's only one thing better than films - great films. And in my quest for all the great films that are out there, people's recommendations have always been a good approach in finding them, especially if these recommendations come from somebody whose taste you share - you will get to know new (hopefully interesting films) and will get an insight on what kind of films the person who recommended them likes. There are also the ominous top list (aka. the best 100 films of all time) but films - as works of art - always have to be judged on a personal level - which makes such a list of course (if it demands to be the absolute truth) totally absurd.I find much more interesting to look at personal recommendation espescially the ones of filmmakers. You can not only choose what a director who you like recommends but also discover who influenced them in the making of their own movies. So I decided to collect as much of these recommendations as possible (although, right now, this is a very small site, hoping to grow...) The start makes one of my favourite American filmmakers and a serious film-buff, as a matter-of-fact I can't think of a person who would be better to start of with than this film-afficiando. One immediately notices Scorsese's love for movies listening to him talking about his favourite ones in the two film-documentaries he produced and directed. So lets get just into it with a list Scorsese compiled containing films that demonstrate masterful use of light and color.Looking forward to any feedback and recommendations.
